Why FM 170 Art? What is FM 170?
Great questions. FM 170, also known as the River Road, runs from Candelaria, TX to Terlingua, TX. It's called River Road because it runs alongside the Rio Grande in Far West Texas; this road passes towns like Presidio, Lajitas, and the famous Terlingua. The road is magical. The Comanches and the Apaches passed it; Cabeza de Vaca supposedly crossed the Rio Grande through Lajitas on FM 170. I chose the name FM170 Art because this road brings great and beautiful memories from my family living in this area and the beautiful mountains that decorate dozens of my paintings. Each time I cross this road, I get motivation for pictures, drawing, and painting ideas.
